What do we produce?
Winter wheat
Wheat is the fundamental crop, that is produced, and is the most popular agricultural plant round the world. It’s one of the oldest crops, produced since around 10-15 thousand years ago. In Bulgaria, the most common is the so-called “winter wheat”, which is used for bread grain and fodder.
Barley
Barley (Hordéum vulgáre) is a important forage, technical, and in some countries – a food plant. It is mainly produced for its seed. It is cultivated in countried with temperate climate. The seed and hay are used ass food for animals, in some countries the seed is used for the produce of malt, beer and various processed products.
Sunflower
Sunflower belongs to family Compositae, genus Helianthus L. Different varieties of sunflower are produced for various purposes such as oil, bird food, the seed (for food as it is), decoration. Sunflower is grown for its seeds, which produce the most widely used vegetable oil in Bulgaria.
Rapeseed
Rapeseed (Brassica napus) also known as canola is a plant with bright yellow petals, which is produced and cultivates oil around the world. The main uses are for forage, produce of rapeseed oil, biodiesel, as a additive in various technichnical oils, medical and cosmetic products etc.
Coriander
Coriander (Coriandrum sativum) is a one-year-lasting grass-like plant, which is widely used as a spice. All parts of the plants are edible, but the fresh leaves and dried seeds are used the most in the kitchen. Corisnder is also produced for its fruit which contains 0,3 – 1,2% essential oil and 17- 24% basic vegetable oil.
Chickpeas
Chickpeas is a plant from the Legume family. Its one of the earliest cultivated by humans crops. Chickpeas is a bush that reaches up to 50cm in height. It is thermophilc, but is reality it is not very demanding. It withholds various extreme conditions.
